Uncompressed (.musicxml) . A .mxl is a zip archive and will not load.
Anything else that exports MIDI (Flat.io, Noteflight, a DAW) works too.
How to use this
Import the real file if you have one, otherwise fix pitches in Notes as you go.Open Map . This piece is an ostinato — you only have to learn a handful of distinct bars.
Work the Plan list top to bottom. One chunk, left hand only, 40%, until it is boring.
Right hand only, same chunk. Then both hands.
Turn on the tempo ladder and let it drag you up to 100%.
Only then join chunks together.
Wait mode
Normal playback runs on a clock — the notes fall whether or not you play them.
Wait mode takes the clock away: it freezes on each chord, outlines the keys you need, and does not
move until you play them. Right notes advance it, wrong ones flash red and it stays put. You cannot
practise a mistake, and you automatically spend your time on the bars you keep fluffing.
Best with a MIDI keyboard (Input tab), but the letter keys work too. Once a passage is
solid, switch it off and run the same loop against the metronome with the tempo ladder.
Fingering
The circled number at the top of each falling note is the finger — 1 is the thumb,
5 the little finger. Two things make this piece easier than it looks:
Right thumb never moves. It stays on the B♭4 pedal note that falls between every
melody note. Only the top finger changes.Left hand is one shape, every bar: 5 4 2 1 2 4. The notes move under it, the fingering
does not. Learn the move once.

Why it is set up this way
The score marks a free rolled chord for three bars, then says the metronome starts at
bar 4. Playback follows that: bars 1–3 stretch, clicks begin at bar 4. Everything from there is
two dotted-quarter pulses a bar at ♪. = 107.
